Working groups
Caitlin is a Senior Research Officer in the Disease Elimination program, with a specific focus on using qualitative research techniques to explore the social determinants of health and solve complex problems. She currently works on the QuickStart evaluation and projects that aim to reduce stigma in healthcare settings. She also has expertise in conducting participatory research with young people from migrant backgrounds and coordinating surveys at music festivals. She has worked collaboratively with multiple organisations including the Centre for Culture Ethnicity and Health, the Centre for Multicultural Youth, Green Crescent Australia and Vanessa.
In 2015, Caitlin was awarded a Bachelor of Health Science with honours at Monash University and the Burnet Institute. Her project focused on investigating sexual health outcomes among young people recruited from online settings. In 2022, Caitlin completed her PhD with the University of Melbourne and the Burnet Institute. Her project explored alcohol and other drug use among young people from migrant backgrounds.

Our work focuses on pornography use among young people in the Australian context.
Every year, we survey young people about their sexual health, drug use, mental health and wellbeing. That data informs public health policies and programs.
The COVID-19 pandemic brought unprecedented disruption. We’re engaging with young people to design public health solutions that help this group and others in uncertain times.
The project explored alcohol and other drug use among culturally and linguistically diverse communities in Wyndham.
We conducted a survey of international students living in Australia aged 16 years and over.
